A different kind of maternity care

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

This is the beginning of one of the most important journeys of your life, and choosing the right midwife is one of the most significant decisions you will make. Pregnancy, birth, and the early weeks with your baby deserve time, expertise, and continuity of care from someone who truly knows you.

My practice offers a highly personalised private midwifery service for women who want more than standard maternity care. I provide discreet, evidence-based, one-to-one care throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period, ensuring that you are supported by the same experienced midwife at every stage.

Why choose an independent midwife?

Independent midwifery offers something increasingly rare in modern maternity care: continuity, availability, and time.

Rather than seeing different professionals at each appointment, you will have a dedicated midwife who understands your medical history, your birth preferences, and the individual needs of your family. Appointments take place in the comfort of your own home, at a time that suits you, and are intentionally unhurried. There is always time for questions, discussion, and thoughtful decision-making.

My role is not only to provide expert clinical care, but also to ensure that you feel informed, supported, and confident throughout your pregnancy. Every recommendation is grounded in the best available evidence, and every decision is made collaboratively with your fully informed consent.

Some clients choose comprehensive private midwifery care, while others prefer additional support alongside their NHS maternity care. I can accompany you to consultant appointments, help you interpret recommendations, discuss your options in depth, and provide continuity and reassurance throughout your pregnancy.

For clients who wish to experience private scans, I can recommend trusted local providers for early pregnancy, reassurance, or growth scans where appropriate.

An investment in exceptional care

Pregnancy and birth have a lasting impact on your physical and emotional wellbeing. Choosing an experienced independent midwife is an investment in personalised care, continuity, and the confidence that comes from being supported by someone who knows you well.

I deliberately limit the number of women I care for each year so that every client receives the highest standard of attention, availability, and clinical care.

Your birth, your choice

Where you give birth is your decision. Some women choose the privacy and familiarity of their own home, while others prefer a birth centre or hospital birth. My role is to help you understand the evidence, explore your options, and support the birth that feels right for you.
If you choose a home birth, I will come to you when you feel you need me, remain with you throughout labour and birth, and continue caring for you and your baby until feeding is established and you feel comfortable and settled.

For women planning a hospital birth, I can provide continuous support throughout labour as your birth companion and advocate. While NHS regulations mean that clinical midwifery care within the hospital is provided by the hospital-employed midwives, I remain by your side throughout labour, offering experienced emotional support, practical guidance, and continuity during what can often be an unfamiliar environment.

Experience and professional excellence

I am a fully qualified independent midwife regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional practice.

My clinical practice is underpinned by extensive experience, ongoing professional development, and a strong academic foundation.

I hold a BSc (Honours) in Nursing Practice (Public Health) with a focus on midwifery, mental health, and service improvement, and I have completed a Master’s degree in Advancing Healthcare Practice.

I am an Independent Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA) and part of a national network dedicated to supporting registered midwives in maintaining the highest standards of professional practice. My role is to provide confidential professional support, restorative supervision, and career development guidance, helping midwives sustain their wellbeing, clinical competence, and safe, evidence-based practice throughout their careers.

I undertake regular advanced clinical updates to ensure that my practice remains current, evidence-based, and aligned with the latest research and professional standards.

I am also a member of the Royal College of Nursing and IMUK (Independent Midwives UK). I hold a diploma in aromatherapy, enabling me to offer this complementary support where appropriate within an evidence-informed framework.

I am frequently consulted on midwifery matters at local, national, and international level, and support other Independent Midwives as a Consultant Clinical Mentor.
